Pope to auction off his Harley
Pope Francis I has a Harley-Davidson. Take a moment to picture a pope on a hog, then continue reading. In fact, he didn’t buy it himself — it was a gift — but he plans to auction it off to raise money to help the homeless.
No word whether he has taken the Harley-Davidson for a spin yet.
Earlier this year the pope gave a blessing to hundreds of Harley aficionados (and their rides) in St. Peter’s Square, where he was presented with one. Money raised from the auction will go toward a Roman hostel and soup kitchen, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Pope Francis is well known for his work with the poor as well as his preference for cars that aren’t exactly blinged out. During a recent trip to Brazil, Francis used a Fiat instead of the Mercedes-Benz popemobile. He has also been spotted in regular rides like Fords and Volkswagens, according to Rome Reports. As a cardinal, he reportedly favored public transportation.

Just once, he needs to put on a helmet and leathers (do they come in white?) and pose with the bike. I’d pay money for it.
